Coming Off The Lemonade Diet

Lemonade Diet
The lemonade diet is a fast or starvation diet. People who have been on the lemonade diet for any length of time are going to have trouble assimilating solid foods. This is because while on the lemonade diet, your body adjusted to the intake of liquid only. Now that you are coming off the lemonade diet, your body will have to readjust to consuming solid foods once more.

The process of coming off the lemonade diet must be a gradual one. After having been on the lemonade diet, you will probably want to gobble up the first solid foods you can get your hands on. You need to fight this craving. The results of coming off the lemonade diet and immediately seizing upon a solid food regimen could be very serious. Your body needs to ease back to consuming solid foods.

Your first day off the lemonade diet should consist mainly of drinking orange juice. You might want to try and interject a fresh fruit puree into your diet on the first day after coming off the lemonade diet, but you shouldn’t take on anything beyond that.

As you begin the second day after the lemonade diet, try a fruit puree for breakfast or a fruit smoothie. Eat the food slowly and purposefully. Lunch should probably be a glass or two of orange juice. Now that you have come off the lemonade diet, you can attempt some solid food for dinner. It is recommended that you attempt a steamed vegetable dish. Again, it is important to ease yourself gently back to assimilating more solid foods after the lemonade diet, so be sure to chew thoroughly and take your time eating the steamed vegetables.

If all went well on your second day after the lemonade diet, you might try about half a bagel or two slices of toast for breakfast on the third morning after the lemonade diet. Remember that after the lemonade diet, your body will not only have to adjust to consuming solid food, but it will have to adjust to quantity as well. This means that as you come off the lemonade diet, you will be eating smaller quantities of food. This situation might persist for a long time, as your stomach no doubt shrank while you went through the rigors of the lemonade diet regimen.

Because you will be adjusting portions according to how you feel, there is no prescribed direction as far as to how many times a day you should eat while coming off the lemonade diet or how often those meals should contain solid food. By this third day after the lemonade diet, you should be able to reintroduce solid foods in small portion, like the bagel and toast for breakfast. By dinnertime on your third day after the lemonade diet, you might want to give a small portion of steamed fish a try along with your steamed vegetables.

Starting with your fourth day off the lemonade diet, you will need to gage for yourself what foods and how much of those foods you can begin introducing back into your regular diet. Listen to your body; it will let you know if you are pushing it too hard. Just remember to take it slow and easy and you will come off the lemonade diet with no adverse effects whatsoever.
